(US) = National Association for the Advancement of Colored People NAACP La NAACP, siglas que corresponden a National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (Asociación Nacional para el Progreso de la Gente de Color), es una organización voluntaria estadounidense fundada en 1910 que se opone a la discriminación racial y que lucha por conseguir leyes que protejan los derechos de los ciudadanos de color. En 1953, la NAACP anunció que la integración en las escuelas era su objetivo prioritario, y este se vio cumplido cuando al año siguiente el Tribunal Supremo de los Estados Unidos prohibió las escuelas segregadas conocidas como separate but equal. Esta asociación siempre ha propugnado la no violencia y rechazó el black power movement de los años sesenta. El movimiento cuenta con el apoyo de cientos de miles de estadounidenses, muchos de ellos de raza blanca.
